Site Manager and Project Manager: where each role begins and ends
We sat down to align the scope and responsibilities of two roles that work side by side every day. Clarity that builds.

By Soledad Zabala, Project Management Coordinator at Enecuatro.
We had a working session pending and we finally held it: sitting down to talk and align the scope and responsibilities of the Site Manager and the Project Manager.
These are two roles that work in parallel, side by side, every single day. And precisely because of that, being clear about where each one’s responsibility begins and ends — and where they necessarily complement each other — is key for the management of a project to work.
What we put on the table
The meeting was a chance to talk about what shows up in the daily life of any construction site:
- Concrete doubts about who decides what, and when.
- Criteria each of us applied out of habit and that were worth making explicit.
- Real situations where the line between one role and the other was not clear.
From there we built a clearer, more coordinated way of working, with defined responsibilities and areas of overlap acknowledged by everyone.

Improving does not always mean adding complexity
Very often, improving a process does not require making it more complex. It requires sitting down, talking and aligning expectations. That is exactly what we did.
We keep working to improve not only how we build, but also how we work as a team.
